About the picture: The Little Mermaid is a bronze statue by Edvard Eriksen, depicting a mermaid. The sculpture is displayed on a rock by the waterside at the Langelinie promenade in Copenhagen and is one of Denmarks great national symbols. The statue has several times had it's head cut off, first time in 1964. A crime the Danish avantgarde artist Jørgen Nash claims to have committed.
